Estate and Financial Planning

Learn how to keep your family out of court and conflict when the Hailey Public Library hosts local attorney Tatyana Gray and financial advisor Brayden Olson for free talk on estate and financial planning. The engaging, scenario-based presentation is designed to help protect loved ones and avoid unnecessary legal complications. Using relatable stories, including the fictional Bliss family, Tatyana and Brayden will illustrate the importance of a comprehensive estate and financial plan. The talk will be held at Town Center West from 5:30-7:00 PM on Thursday, December 5, and livestreamed at www.haileypubliclibrary.org.

Age & Ability: all ages, families encouraged to attend together Ketchum Afternoon Art runs from 1:30–4:30pm at the Sun Valley Museum of Art. Afternoon Art is offered in Ketchum on the first Friday of each month and in Hailey on the second Friday from 1:30-4:30pm and are recommended for families with children of all ages. Use this opportunity to hone technical drawing skills in a relaxed environment while drawing directly from the human figure. A model will hold a variety of poses throughout the 2-hour session. All skill levels are welcome. Bring your own supplies; drawing boards will be provided. Age & ability: 18+, all skill levels welcome! The class takes place from 6–8pm. Origami Cranes Peace Project

The Hailey Public Library is inviting the community to participate in the 3rd annual, valley-wide project to fold hundreds of Origami cranes to promote peace and honor the holiday season. Cranes will be folded during 2 free workshops and then displayed at the library starting on the Winter Solstice, December 21. The 2-hour, facilitated workshops will be held at Town Center West, 116 S River in Hailey, from 5:30-7:30 PM on Thursday, December 12. Another workshop will be offered from 2:00-4:00 PM on Saturday, December 14. Each workshop begins with a short loving kindness meditation followed by a lesson in folding Origami cranes. In addition, young children are invited to fold fun versions of simple Origami birds and dogs by visiting the Maker Space at the Hailey Public Library. All materials will be available. Introduction to Avalanches Presentation

Join the Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center for a 90 minute presentation based on the Know Before You Go platform, introducing basic concepts about snow, avalanches, and traveling safely in and near avalanche terrain. Learn from the Friends of SAC instructor team of snow experts, mountain guides, and experienced avalanche educators. We invite everyone to join if you’re learning about avalanches for the first time or are a seasoned backcountry user ready for a yearly refresher. No registration is needed for the presentation. This event will be in person but will also be live-streamed!
