HPL Knitting Classes Return from Holidays

“Learn to Knit” is a free, 4-week class co-taught by master knitters Patricia Lirk and Joanne Squire! The series will focus on the basics and participants will create a personal project. Classes will be held each Tuesday from 5:30-7:00 PM starting January 7 at the Library, 7 West Croy. Participants should bring their own yarn and needles. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. Email kristin.fletcher@haileypubliclibrary.org or call 208-788-2036 to reserve your spot. “Knitting Circle” is an informal gathering facilitated by master knitters Patricia Lirk and Joanne Squire! It will be held on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at the Library, 7 West Croy, from 5:30-7:00 PM, starting January 8. The Circle is suitable for all abilities. New this month - optional instruction in a cool advanced technique. Participants should bring their own yarn, needles and knitting project. Pre-registration is helpful. January 4-10, FitWorks is hosting an open house with free access to all classes and equipment. FitWorks is open from Monday to Thursday, 6:00 am to 7:00 pm, Fridays from 6:00am to 6:00 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. FitWorks boasts a wealth of classes catering to a broad spectrum of fitness enthusiasts including H.I.I.T., Yoga, Dance, Pilates, Barre, Spin and more! FitWorks memberships start at $25/month and special rates are available for students and seniors. Fitness classes are included with a FitWorks Plus membership or are $8 per class. Join the Friends of the Sawtooth Avalanche Center for a 90 minute presentation based on the Know Before You Go platform, introducing basic concepts about snow, avalanches, and traveling safely in and near avalanche terrain. Learn from the Friends of SAC instructor team of snow experts, mountain guides, and experienced avalanche educators. We invite everyone to join if you’re learning about avalanches for the first time or are a seasoned backcountry user ready for a yearly refresher. There is a $15 suggested donation, no preregistration required. In addition to the presentation, The Friends also put on Introduction to Avalanche Field Days. Please note- you need to have attended a Friends’ Introduction to Avalanches presentation prior to participating in the field day. There is a $50 suggested donation to the Friends of SAC to cover instructor costs. Donations can be made on www.sawtoothavalanche.com (click the donate button) or via Venmo @sawtooth-avalanche.
