Wood River Writers’ Focused Writing Group
The Community LibraryCo-work with a community of writers the first Saturday of each month for focused writing and craft discussions and connect to other writers from the Wood River Valley and beyond! The Wood River Writers’ Groups are led by AJ Super, a local author with a trilogy of science fiction books published by a small traditional press. Neighborly Spanish Returns!
Hailey Town Center WestNeighborly Spanish is a free, 8-week class taught on Mondays from noon-1:30 PM by retired local Spanish teacher Jim King. The class will offer basic Spanish language skills seasoned with a little history and culture. Enrollment limited to 20. Classes are on Mondays, starting January 22 through March 18. Our school hallways will be transformed into the most exclusive display of unique and one-of-a-kind masterpieces created by the young, talented artists of Big Wood School. Join us for refreshments and a chance to mix and mingle with the artists themselves. Monday evening will be the Grand Opening for the Fans and Families of our Sharks, Wolves, Ladybugs, Butterflies and Little Llamas. Tuesday evening will be reserved for Followers and Friends of our Chickadees, Kind Cats, Tiny Turtles, and Chipmunks. Ribbon Cuttings at 4:30pm SHARP.

Sun Valley Music Festival Winter Season
The Argyros Performing Arts CenterSixth winter season spotlights Jon Kimura Parker with all-Brahms programs. The Sun Valley Music Festival presents its sixth Winter Season at the Argyros Performing Arts Center, from March 6 to 9. The 2024 Winter Season focuses on “The Romance of Brahms” and offers two chamber music programs specially curated by Music Director Alasdair Neale, featuring pianist Jon Kimura Parker — winner of the Gold Medal at the 1984 Leeds International Piano Competition — and string musicians from the all-star Sun Valley Music Festival Orchestra. Presented in an intimate atmosphere, the all-Brahms programs include beloved pieces by the Romantic composer for solo piano and string ensembles, such as Hungarian Dance No. 4 in F Minor, Quintet No. 1 in F Major, Trio No. 1 in B Major, and the inventive and technically demanding Handel Variations. The two unique programs will be performed on alternating evenings: the first on March 6 and 8, the second on March 7 and 9. The concerts will take place at the Argyros Performing Arts Center in Ketchum, starting at 7:00 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.) The concerts are about two hours long, including a 20-minute intermission.
