Enjoy refreshments as you tour Intertwined: Weaving in Community with SVMoA’s curator. Intertwined: Weaving in Community examines traditional weaving as a platform for social practice and activism. The exhibition features artwork by Portland-based artist Sara Siestreem (Hanis Coos), Los Angeles-based artist Tanya Aguiñiga, and AMBOS (Art Made Between Opposite Sides), a collective Aguiñiga founded in 2016. The exhibition also includes a community-based artwork emerging from workshops AMBOS is conducting in the Wood River Valley in April. Visitors to the Museum are invited to contribute to the artwork as it grows over the course of the exhibition.

Un(b)locking Creativity with Kika Macfarlane from Two Toes Creative This workshop is designed for artists, makers, writers and idea people – anyone who creates things. Through a series of constraint-based drawing exercises, we will remember how to let go of perfectionism and lean into collaboration, intuition, and the freedom to make a lot of bad art (and maybe something beautiful, too). The aim is to leave participants equipped with a new set of tools to overcome creative block and appreciate the capacities of their own mind. The medium of this workshop will be pen and paper, though no illustration experience is required. An SVMoA Contemporaries Event.

Classic Flicks at HPL celebrates spring showers with a 1952 musical romantic comedy starring the light-footed Gene Kelly getting wet while showing off his famous dance steps with Debbie Reynolds. It is considered by many to be the greatest musical film ever made and one of the greatest movies of all time. The film will be shown at 6:00 PM at Town Center West, 116 S River St., in Hailey. United State Air Force Academy Band The Falconaires’ Free concert at Wood River High School Theater

The Falconaires, the big band of the United States Air Force Academy Band, will present a performance in Hailey, ID at the Wood River High School Theater at Community Campus on April 11, 2024, at 7:00pm. Doors will open at 6:00pm and the show will begin at 7:00pm. This concert is free and open to the public. The Falconaires will be taking the audience on a trip through the pantheon of big band jazz. Performing classics from the golden era of jazz, ala Count Basie and Glenn Miller, all the way through modern day hits like those from the Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band and even some originals by Falconaires members. There will be something for everyone. The Falconaires will be traveling through Wyoming, Southern Idaho, Salt Lake City and concluding their 8 engagement tour in Grand Junction, CO before returning home to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The only musical ensemble which can genuinely trace its heritage back to the American military band is the big band.
