2024 U.S. Alpine National Championships

Sun Valley is proud to welcome back the Toyota U.S. Alpine Championships presented by Stifel to our historic resort for the second year in a row. Running March 20th-24th, you’re invited to cheer on the elite and next generation ski racers vying for their place on the U.S. National Team during the final competition on the National ski racing circuit.

Wednesday, March 20th – U.S. Alpine Championships—Super G

Super giant slalom, or super-G, is a high-speed alpine skiing race. Introduced to the World Cup in 1983, it’s a “speed” event, distinct from the technical giant slalom and slalom. Racers navigate a course with gates, turning more than in downhill but maintaining faster speeds than in giant slalom.

Thursday, March 21st – U.S. Alpine Championships—Super G Finals

Thursday, March 21st – U.S. Alpine Championships Opening Ceremony

Come out and celebrate the start of the 2024 U.S. Alpine Championships at the Opening Ceremony in Ketchum Town Square!

The City of Ketchum, the City of Sun Valley, and Sun Valley Resort are thrilled to welcome back the U.S. Alpine Championship ski racing events for the fourth time! Racing kicks off on Wednesday, March 20th with Men & Women’s Super G on the Warm Springs side of Bald Mountain and will continue through Sunday, March 24th. The community is invited to celebrate in Ketchum Town Square on Thursday, March 21st from 4:30pm-7:30pm and welcome these incredible ski racers to town. Festivities will include a parade of athletes led by the drum corps, local SVSEF athletes, and followed by a presentation of the men’s and women’s Super G awards. Enjoy the rest of the evening as the Kris Lager Band entertains the crowd with a live concert on the plaza. Grab a bite to eat and cold beverage and join us in kicking off what’s sure to be an exciting and entertaining week of top-level racing in Sun Valley!

Meet your favorite competitors during our special U.S. Alpine Championships athlete signing sessions and connect with the stars of the slopes!

Sunday, March 24 – U.S. Alpine Championships—Slalom

The Slalom is one of the most technical disciplines in alpine ski racing, emphasizing agility, precision, and quickness. The Slalom course is set with a dense series of gates (poles with flags) that are closely spaced. These gates require the skier to make rapid, tight turns as they descend the course.
