Join the Wood River Orchestra this Mother's Day for a program of music from modern Hollywood classics, including Star Wars, Harry Potter, the Lord of the Rings, Pirates of the Caribbean, Indiana Jones, James Bond and more! Guest choreographer, Kioa Delos Reyes set the Advanced Hip Hop piece for the show. The Falconaires, the big band of the United States Air Force Academy Band, will present a performance in Hailey, ID at the Wood River High School Theater at Community Campus on April 11, 2024, at 7:00pm. Doors will open at 6:00pm and the show will begin at 7:00pm. This concert is free and open to the public. The Falconaires will be taking the audience on a trip through the pantheon of big band jazz. Performing classics from the golden era of jazz, ala Count Basie and Glenn Miller, all the way through modern day hits like those from the Gordon Goodwin Big Phat Band and even some originals by Falconaires members. There will be something for everyone. The Falconaires will be traveling through Wyoming, Southern Idaho, Salt Lake City and concluding their 8 engagement tour in Grand Junction, CO before returning home to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs. The only musical ensemble which can genuinely trace its heritage back to the American military band is the big band.
