During the summer operating season, Sun Valley Resort is open 7 days a week from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM, including all holidays.
Scenic Lift Access Opens June 26th

Ride the Roundhouse Express Gondola midway up Bald Mountain to enjoy lunch at Roundhouse, hike, or just take in the panoramic views.
- Scenic tickets are valid for the Roundhouse Express Gondola. Each ticket is valid for a single ride from the bottom of the River Run base area to the top of the Roundhouse Express Gondola and back down.
- A scenic gondola ticket is required for lunch reservations at The Roundhouse. You can make a reservation here.
- Each passenger loading the Roundhouse Express Gondola must have their own scenic ticket
- Children 2 and under are free and may ride the gondola only
- Scenic Gondola tickets can be used at any time during normal operating hours
- Pets are allowed on the gondola only. Pet Passes are available for $10 and all proceeds are donated to Mountain Humane.
Summer 2026 Lift Access
Due to the Lookout and Christmas Lift replacement project, access to the top of Bald Mountain via Christmas Lift will not be available to hikers, bikers, or sightseers. Saddle Up and Lupine trails will be closed for the summer. Other trails may be subject to intermittent closures – check the Mountain Report for current trail statuses before heading out.
Lift-Assisted Biking Opens July 1st
Bald Mountain now boasts America’s longest purpose-built downhill trail and over 3,100 vertical feet of thrilling lift-accessed trails. Enjoy lift laps of 3,100 feet of mountain biking bliss from the top of Bald Mountain.
2026 Summer Season on Bald Mountain
Lookout Lodge Closure
Lookout Lodge will be closed this summer due to the Lookout and Christmas Lift Construction Projects. There will be NO RESTROOMS or POTABLE WATER inside the Lodge, but there will be portable restroom facilities available. Full facilities will be available at the Roundhouse restaurant.
Christmas & Lookout Lift Enhancement Projects
Coming Winter 2026–2027, Lookout Express lift will be replaced with a new high-speed six-pack and Christmas lift with a high-speed detachable quad, delivering faster ride times and significantly increasing uphill capacity. Learn more here.
Bald Mountain Trail Impacts
The City of Ketchum is building a new connector trail from Bald Mountain Trail to Warm Springs. There will be intermittent impacts to the first section of Bald Mountain Trail this summer. Please monitor this page for updates.

The Roundhouse Restaurant will open June 26 for the summer season. Lunch will be available Wednesday to Sunday, from 11 am – 3 pm. Reservations are required, book online or call (208) 622-2012.
