Sawtooth Valley Gathering

The annual Sawtooth Valley Gathering takes place in beautiful Stanley, Idaho--this year on August 19 & 20, 2016.
Live music on 2 stages and onsite camping.

Nothing brings people together like live music and the great outdoors. We find that especially true when the great outdoors refers to one of the most breathtaking venues in the Northwest, Sawtooth Valley Pioneer Park. Clear your schedule, request off work, and head to Stanley, Idaho the weekend of August 19th and 20th for the 2nd annual Sawtooth Valley Gathering(SVG). Stanley is the gateway to an abundance of outdoor recreation, including: hiking, biking, rafting, fishing, and exploring the world famous Red Fish Lake. The two day music and arts festival features 20+ live performances on 2 stages and spans an eclectic mix of genres including: Americana, Bluegrass, Folk, Country, Funk and good old fashioned Rock and Roll.

Guitar master, Scott Pemberton will be bringing his fourpiece, funk band to Stanley for a Friday night, headlining performance at the SVG. Scott plays with the uninhibited joy and intensity of someone who recognizes that every time we make music is an honor and a gift and perhaps that is why his sound is so much like his native Portland: freaky, fun, and just the right amount of weird.

National touring altcountry group, Fruition will be headlining on Saturday with a very special 2 set performance that will begin at sunset and take us late into the night. In the eight years since an impromptu busking session in Portland, Oregon, the band has grown from a rootsy, stringcentric quintet to a fullfledged rock band with an easy but powerful grasp of soul, blues, and British Invasion era pop.

The SVG is very pleased to bring back the coheadliner of the last year’s festival, San Francisco based, bluegrass band Hot Buttered Rum (HBR). HBR is fresh off releasing 3 new EP’s and we cannot wait to see what the fast pickin’, funlovin’, quintet has in store for us this time around.

Other national & regional touring artists include Blue Lotus, Free Peoples, Gipsy Moon, and Holus Bolus. Idaho based musicians include Innocent Man, Old Death Whisper, Jupiter Holiday, Lounge On Fire, Stoneseed, Spike Coggins, Jac Sound, Accidental Hitchhikers and many more. Renowned fiddle player, Jeremy Garrett of the Grammy winning bluegrass band, Infamous Stringdusters, will also be onsite to perform as an ArtistAtLarge.

In addition to the music, there will be a variety of craft and food vendors onsite. This includes the Sawtooth Brewery of Ketchum which will be serving a tasty selection of their Idaho microbrews and Mountain Village Resort which will be operating a fully stocked cocktail bar. For the full experience, plan to stay at the SVG campground located a short walking distance from the main festival grounds. Although the main event is Friday and Saturday, plan on heading up on Thursday, August, 18th at 5 PM to stake your claim in the campsite with either your RV, Vehicle, or Tent and enjoy one extra evening under the stars.
