The Ohio Gulch Transfer Station in Blaine County is home to three distinct entities:

1. Southern Idaho Solid Waste District’s (SISW) municipal solid waste transfer station–where trash is collected and sent to Milner Butte for disposal. Blaine County is a member of the district but does not operate this facility. Additional SISW facilities are located in other parts of Blaine County (Carey). For solid waste related questions, please check the SISW website or contact the Ohio Gulch scale house at 208-788-2351

2. Winn’s Compost–a private entity co-located at Ohio Gulch who offers composting and yard waste disposal. For more information about their offerings you can reach them at: 208-309-2525

3. Blaine County Recycle Center (operated by Blaine County)–where recyclables are collected, sorted and distributed to a beneficial reuse. Our mission is to provide an environmentally sound and cost-effective recycling program and to improve recycling through education and outreach. Learn more about how to recycle, and where products go through our interactive ArcGIS STORYMAP.

Blaine County has multi-stream recycling, which means all recyclable products need to be separated and put in their appropriate bins at the curbside or recycling locations.
