David Poole and Dominic Peters of GoldFish will be taking turns on Bald Mountain before taking the stage at the Argyros on Saturday, March 15th as part of their GoldFish Snow Tour. They are currently traveling the world playing to their fans but love making stops in their favorite ski towns like Sun Valley and Telluride. They always spend a few extra days in Sun Valley to enjoy the mountain and their favorite restaurants like Apple’s and Grumpy’s. Throughout the performance, the McGuigan brothers and their band blend the audience’s personal stories with their own memories of growing up listening to The Beatles, creating a one-of-a-kind show that changes with every performance. Argyros Presents Warren & Flick: Acoustic String Duo

Warren & Flick crafts a sound both invitingly full and authentically transparent; captivating listeners through original material that balances familiarity with an exploratory spirit. Jacob Warren plays double bass, and tenor bass. Grant Flick plays violin, tenor guitar, and nyckelharpa. The two met at the 2015 Acoustic Music Seminar (AMS), a program for young string players from around the world to collaborate and hone their improvisation, composition and performance abilities. Their music is a reflection of their friendship and wide musical interests. Jacob and Grant spend much of their time arranging, composing, and performing together primarily developing original works. The duo documented their sound with their first album “Kestrel,” released in 2019, and their second album “Waxwing” released in May 2022. Their third album set to release Spring 2025 shows an evolution in both their individual playing and ensemble with a great variety of stylistic foundation and a gentle curiosity for moving between and away from conventional idioms. With Jacob’s classical foundation and Grant’s experience in bluegrass and jazz, their contrasting backgrounds give this collaboration a unique and compelling musical narrative. Friday evening, April 25, 7 P.M., Ken will perform his ‘Now Entering Alaska Time’solo show that combines fiddle tunes, smart original poetry, and Alaska-set storytelling. Raised outside Philadelphia, Ken moved to Alaska in 1985 to attend graduate school. A former college professor, Ken has lived in Fairbanks, Juneau, Sitka, Nome, Anchorage, and has traveled widely in the state. Now a long-time touring artist, he has appeared at the Kennedy Center Millennium Stage, the Dodge Poetry Festival, The Woodford Folk Festival (Queensland, Australia), and leading festivals, concert series, colleges, arts centers, and clubs across North America. Saturday, April 26, 10am, Ken Waldman will lead a free two-hour workshop designed for writers of any experience, ability, and age (though recommended for writers at least 13 years old). FOUR WRITING PROMPTS: BEGIN FOUR NEW STORIES OR POEMS The more you write, the luckier you get—and each time you start a piece, there's an opportunity to get luckier than ever. The trick is getting started. Here, you'll not only begin four new pieces, but will learn strategies to begin many more. The session is open to writers of all levels. In addition to being a fiddler (with 12 CDs--and he's performing at The Argyros on Friday night!), Ken Waldman is a former college professor with an MFA in Creative Writing from University of Alaska Fairbanks. He has 16 full-length poetry collections, a memoir (about his life as a touring artist), a children's book, a creative writing manual, and a novel. Over 400 of his stories, poems, and essays have appeared in such journals as Beloit Poetry Journal and Poets & Writers.

This May, The Argyros Performing Arts Center is thrilled to welcome Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee Jim Messina and his band, The Road Runners, to our stage. An undisputed expert in the fine art of making hit music,  Jim Messina’s legacy of musical genius spans five decades,  three super groups, a vibrant solo career and scores of  producing and engineering credits. Messina brings his band, The Road Runners, and the show highlights Messina’s musical career, spanning the decades, that includes three groups - Buffalo Springfield, Poco and Loggins & Messina. Messina performed with and was the producer and audio engineer for Buffalo Springfield, as well as a founding member of the group Poco. Then Jim Messina and Kenny Loggins became the duo that sold more than 20 million albums and released hits like “Danny's Song,” “Your Mama Don’t Dance,” “House on Pooh Corner” and “Angry Eyes.”
