Please join us for this pop-up exhibition by metal sculptor Delia Dante featuring two new works from her “Warrior Women” series, including a piece inspired by Mariel Hemingway, actress and writer, who lives in the Wood River Valley. Dante and Hemingway will be present for this one-night-only exhibition.
“I was deeply moved by her book Out Came the Sun, where Mariel shares her journey toward healing and personal transformation,” Dante said. “Her resilience, honesty, and lifelong advocacy for mental well-being are profoundly inspiring. In creating her armor, I wanted to honor her strength, her clarity of vision, and the light she brings to others through her work and her foundation.”
“One of the most exciting parts of the process was blending traditional metalworking with modern technology,” Dante said. “I used copper electroforming on 3D-printed components and TIG-welded the entire piece together, which pushed me to advance my own technical skills in new ways.”
A short film by Karen Day, titled “Women on Fire,” featuring Dante & Hemingway will also screen at the event. Food & drink provided. All are welcome to attend.
