Join SVMoA and Merlin’s Magic Lantern for a screening of A Revolution on Canvas, a documentary portrait of seminal Iranian artist Nickzad Noudjami that explores how his life and work fuse painting with political resistance. The film traces his creative evolution, showing how personal history, exile, and global upheaval shape the themes and urgency of his art. Through studio footage and reflections from Noudjami himself, the film dives into the mystery surrounding the disappearance of more than 100 “treasonous” paintings. Ultimately, it reveals art as both a form of survival and a tool for social critique.
The film is directed and produced by Sara Nodjoumi and Till Schauder. Film Length: 1 hour 35 minutes.
