Join us for the final show of the season! The regional premiere of MEDICINE by ENDA WALSH, April 20–30 @ The Spot. The blackbox theater located at 220 Lewis Street #2, Ketchum, ID 83340. SHOW DESCRIPTION: John Kane is sitting on a hospital gurney, and very shortly a jazz percussionist, two women called Mary, a very old man and a giant lobster will arrive. Then everything will start. Medicine is a dark and frequently absurdist work that shatters the boundary between cast and audience. It is a devastatingly funny and moving meditation on how, for decades, we have treated those we have called ‘mentally ill’. Medicine, a Landmark Productions and Galway International Arts Festival production, received its world premiere at the Edinburgh International Festival in August 2021 prior to its opening at GIAF 2021 in September and New York transfer to St. Ann’s Warehouse in November. The Spot's production will be the show's regional premiere in the U.S. and the first performance by a new company of actors. (The world premiere was written for and created with the original cast.) Go Figure! Elevate your Tuesday evening and join SVMoA for a creative studio session that will explore the human figure in variations of lighting, pose, and setting. SVMoA provides a clothed or unclothed model, refreshments, and an open, self-guided studio setting for participants of all abilities. Open to anyone interested in working from the model, regardless of experience level. Familiarity with basic drawing fundamentals is recommended. Bring your own supplies; drawing boards will be provided. Age & ability: 16 years and older, all skill levels welcome! The importance of early detection and benefits of diagnosis. Next steps and expectations for the diagnostic process. Alzheimer’s Association resources. Gini Ballou has been a resident of the Wood River Valley for over 40 years. Since her mother's death in 2008, Gini has been an advocate for those with Alzheimer's and the families that care for them. She regularly speaks with leaders at the Statehouse and is the Alzheimer's Association's Ambassador to Congressman Simpson. This program is presented in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association®. Helen Morgus leads sewing club, which teaches basic hand-stitching through simple projects for kids, tweens, and teens. Children must be age 7+ to attend. Sign-up (per child) is required.
