Alzheimer’s causes changes in memory, thinking and behavior that are not normal aging. Join us to learn about: The difference between normal aging and Alzheimer’s. Common warning signs. The importance of early detection and benefits of diagnosis. Next steps and expectations for the diagnostic process. Alzheimer’s Association resources. Gini Ballou has been a resident of the Wood River Valley for over 40 years. Since her mother's death in 2008, Gini has been an advocate for those with Alzheimer's and the families that care for them. She regularly speaks with leaders at the Statehouse and is the Alzheimer's Association's Ambassador to Congressman Simpson. This program is presented in partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association®. Helen Morgus leads sewing club, which teaches basic hand-stitching through simple projects for kids, tweens, and teens. Children must be age 7+ to attend. Sign-up (per child) is required. Space is limited. You may sign-up online or call the library at 208-726-3493 x3 for registration assistance. Children under the age of 9 must be accompanied by a parent/caregiver.

Come sharpen your proficiency and comfort with the language by listening, speaking, sharing your opinion and narrating. Drop-in, no registration required.

Ribi will use his outstanding images to illustrate that it’s not about the type of camera, it’s the perspective and the eye of the person making the photograph that creates a difference.

“Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition” Film Screening

The Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam has put together the largest Vermeer exhibition in history - it will never be repeated. This momentous retrospective is the largest ever devoted exclusively to the “master of light”, with 28 of his 35 known works from countries all over the world. Never have so many Vermeer masterpieces been brought together in one place. Exhibition on Screen’s documentary film "Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition" brings this historic exhibition to more audiences worldwide. This stunning documentary, released in April 2023, invites audiences to a private viewing of this spectacular exhibition on the big screen, accompanied by the director of the Rijksmuseum and the curators of the show. Luke Skywalker begins a journey that will change the galaxy in Star Wars: A New Hope.  Nineteen years after the formation of the Empire, Luke is thrust into the struggle of the Rebel Alliance when he meets Obi-Wan Kenobi, who has lived for years in seclusion on the desert planet of Tatooine.  Obi-Wan begins Luke’s Jedi training as Luke joins him on a daring mission to rescue the beautiful Rebel leader, Princess Leia, from the clutches of Darth Vader and the evil Empire. Community Campus

Footlight Dance Centre, under the Artistic Direction of Hilarie Neely, presents “SNOW QUEEN", Friday, Saturday, MAY 5-6, 7:00 pm and Sunday, May 7, 2:00 pm, at the WRHS Performing Arts Theater at the Community Campus in Hailey. A classic fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen, written in 1844, originally written in seven chapters. The prologue introduces us to the Snow Queen in her ice palace where hobgoblins have made a magic mirror. Good and evil are a part of the story where respect, perseverance and loyalty finds two friends looking for each other after one is captured by the mirrors’ spell. Gerda sets off on a journey encountering different characters until she arrives at the snow palace to save her friend Kai. Disney was inspired to tell the story in their “Frozen” franchised series. The Snow Queen will be played by Hazel Ludwig, a senior at WRHS, the two friends Gerda & Kai by Ava Knowles, Senior, and Leo Star, Junior. Piper Kolb will play the Crow, Lilia Page the Princess lead, and Bridgette Silva the Rose Princess, all are Seniors.
