Blaine County Recreation District is hosting a free evening of Nordic skiing and s’mores at Quigley Trails Park in Hailey on Friday, February 23 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. This family-friendly event will feature a campfire with free hot chocolate, s’mores, and beer. The community is invited to bring their Nordic skis and enjoy a moonlit glide on Quigley Trails Park’s groomed ski trails. During this event, a Nordic pass is not required to ski. Participants are encouraged to bring a headlamp or flashlight if the night is cloudy, as the trails are not lit. To foster a welcoming environment for all, we recommend that dogs are left safely at home during this community event.

In addition, Elephant's Perch and Backwoods are hosting an Equipment Demo Day at Galena Lodge. Whether you're a seasoned skier or new to the sport, this is a perfect opportunity to try out the latest skiing gear. With expert advice available, you can find the equipment that best suits your style and needs. In addition, Galena Lodge will be offering free 30 minute beginner ski lessons at 10:00 am, 11:00 am, 12:00 pm, and 1:00 pm. No registration required.

An open gathering of acoustic musicians of many levels coming together to play traditional tunes of the Celtic, Canadian, Western and many other genres. This is a free community event hosted by a volunteer. Everyone is encouraged to suggest a tune and to play along as they wish. Listeners are welcome, too! We welcome and seek to include all interested people regardless of age, background, economic resources, or ability. Meeting every other Saturday in the The Community Library Lecture Hall from 3:00-5:00 p.m.

The event titled, “Soaring Standards,” will explore the theme of social norms—expectations or unwritten rules regarding how people should behave. Norms and standards influence all types of relationships; platonic and romantic. Everyone can promote safe and healthy relationships in our community by choosing to create new social norms that promote respect and equality.
