Join The Community Library, the Idaho Department of Finance, the Idaho Commission on Aging- Adult Protective Services, AARP Idaho, and other key stakeholders for an information session on how to identify, prevent, and report financial fraud and suspected senior financial exploitation. This in-person gathering is your opportunity to meet and learn from experts about the best ways to protect the finances of you and your loved ones from fraud and criminal actors. Whether you're a business owner, investor, caregiver, or simply interested in protecting your personal assets, this event is for you. The presentation will be followed by a meet and greet with the experts. Light refreshments are included, and door-raffle prizes will be available.

Visit Sun Valley invites you to our Community Shindig on Thursday, November 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at Whiskey's on Main in Ketchum. Our team will provide a short presentation including a review of the summer season, what to expect this upcoming winter season, and guest speakers will talk about the Audi FIS Ski World Cup Finals and 5850 Fest. The presentation starts at 5:15pm. Afterwards stay around for networking. This event is free to attend. Appetizers and a drink ticket per person will be provided.

An Evening with Adam Johnson

Join us for an evening with Adam Johnson, author of National Book Award-winning "Fortune Smiles," and Pulitzer Prize-winning "The Orphan Master's Son," among other titles. Johnson is a Professor of English with emphasis in creative writing at Stanford University. He is the winner of a Whiting Award and Fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, the National Endowment for the Arts and the American Academy in Berlin. His stories have appeared in Esquire, GQ, Playboy, Harper's Magazine, Granta, The Paris Review, The Best American Short Stories, The Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy and have been recognized with the Story Prize, The Sunday Times Short Story Award and the Dayton Literary Peace Prize. His work has been translated into more than three-dozen languages. He was born in South Dakota and is an enrolled member of the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe. His teaching and research interests include the development of the novel, indigeneity, the oral tradition, counter narrative, trauma theory and speculative fiction. Families and friends are encouraged to communicate, reflect, and produce as artists together. Perfect for art lovers, curious minds, and anyone seeking inspiration. Projects will vary. Age & Ability: all ages, families encouraged to attend together Hailey Afternoon Art runs from 1:30–4:30pm at SVMoA's Hailey Classroom. Afternoon Art is offered in Ketchum on the first Friday of each month and in Hailey on the second Friday from 1:30-4:30pm and are recommended for families with children of all ages. Wood River Writers’ Focused Writing Group

Saturdays, November 2 – April 5, from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm Co-work with a community of writers the first Saturday of each month for focused writing and craft discussions and connect to other writers from the Wood River Valley and beyond! All writing abilities and ages welcome. Join us in The Community Library’s Idaho Room, or online via Zoom. The Wood River Writers’ Groups are led by AJ Super, a local author with a trilogy of science fiction books published by a small traditional press. She is also a Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers’ Association (SFWA) member.
