Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Association

The Sawtooth Interpretive and Historical Assocaition is a 501(c)3 organization that was created in 1972, when the Sawtooth National Recreation Area was established. Our mission is to protect and advance the natural and cultural history of Idaho’s Sawtooth – Salmon River Country through preservation and education. Our funds come from book and map sales, memberships, donations, and grants. To become a member today, click here! Throughout the Sawtooth – Salmon River Country, we operate many year round book stores, including one at Ketchum Ranger Station, Sawtooth NRA Headquarters, and the Stanley Ranger Station. During the summer months, we operate the Stanley Museum and the Redfish Visitor Center. In those month, we talk to and education over 10,000 people every year, and enhance their stewardship to this special area.
