Celebrating the power of words and the creative spirit in a landscape that Hemingway loved. The annual Hemingway Distinguished Lecture is presented each July, honoring the month of Ernest Hemingway’s birth and death. This major event is held outdoors on the library’s lawn on 4th street.
Past speakers have included Hampton Sides, Joy Harjo, Luis Alberto Urrea, and Roxanne Gay. 2026 speaker to be announced soon. Learn about past Hemingway Distinguished Lectures here.
The 2026 speaker will be announced in early April, and registration will open on April 13.
