Sun Valley Museum of Art (SVMoA) is pleased to present “Capturing Your Best iPhone Photos,” a two-session Craft Series Workshop with photography enthusiast Stacie Brew. The workshop will be held on two successive Tuesday evenings, July 27 and Aug. 3, from 6 to 8:30 p.m. in SVMoA’s Hailey Classroom. The workshop is part of SVMoA’s current exhibition, “Clay, Silver, Ink: Sun Valley Center at 50.” The Museum’s 2020–2021 Craft Series Workshops are generously supported by Heather Horton and Deida Runswick.
Photography is often referred to as painting with light. Like practitioners of any artistic discipline, photographers should be adept at using all the tools in their artistic toolboxes, always ready to capture light artistically. Local photographer Stacie Brew will walk workshop participants through the basics of how to take great photos with an iPhone. Stacie will share her favorite apps for color correction, cropping and other image adjustments and will show students how to share their images on social media. Students should bring an iPhone with an up-to-date operating system and functioning camera. The workshop is designed for students 16 and older, and beginners are welcome. Please note: this class is for iPhone and Apple devices only.
“Stacie has wonderful ideas about the use of photography apps and the various functions on the phone to make the best of our iPhone photos,” said Jeanne Knott, Visual Arts Class Assistant at SVMoA. “We are thrilled to have Stacie teach another photography class for us.”
SVMoA is closely following CDC and state and local guidelines regarding health and safety measures. The staff is fully vaccinated. Guests must wear a mask in The Museum, SVMoA’s classrooms and the Hailey House if they are unvaccinated or have underlying medical conditions which make them particularly vulnerable. While attending SVMoA events, participants must follow all posted or spoken instructions regarding health and safety.
Tuition for “Capturing Your Best iPhone Photos” with Stacie Brewis is $65 for SVMoA members and $75 for nonmembers. For more information and to reserve a space in the workshop (limited spaces), visit svmoa.org or call 208.726.9491.
