“Reid has a smoky alto voice that achieves a rare intimacy with the listener. She’s also a
highly skilled improviser.”
Downbeat
“Equally talented as a pianist, her phrasing reveals how she hears the lyric as not only a
vocalist but an instrumentalist that clearly understands the value of the language of
jazz.’’
JazzTimes
“Reid does not sing songs, she tells stories and embraces the music in a very intimate
and genuine fashion that lends an immediate air of self assurance and confidence in
one of the finest vocalists working the scene today.“
