Dr. Daniel Peluso will be sharing his work in a talk called “Democratizing Astronomy & Indigenous Knowledge through Music & Music Science” on Thursday, June 5 at 5:30 pm in Town Center West. Dr. Peluso is an astronomer, researcher, educator, and media creator. He is also a singer/songwriter who performs under the pseudonym Conner Eko, and he will be sharing some live music during his presentation.
His work highlights the significant impact of citizen science on planetary research and education. As an educator, Peluso has taught at the college and high school levels and remains committed to expanding astronomy education opportunities. About his work, Peluso says, “My ultimate career goal is to work as a full-time singer-songwriter while remaining involved in STEAM education and finding innovative ways to merge the two to inspire humanity.”
Dr. Peluso’s talk will be held at Town Center West located at 116 S. River St. next to the Hailey Public Library.
This program is made possible thanks to a partnership with Hailey Public Library, Idaho Dark Sky Alliance, Boise State University, and Sawtooth Botanical Garden. At 9:30 pm, Dr. Peluso and local astronomers will host stargazing at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden located at 11 Gimlet Rd. in Ketchum.
