Mike Medberry is the current Writer-in-Residence at the Hemingway House and will be reading from his book of essays, “Living in the Broken West: Essays”. Medberry is a fiction and nonfiction writer whose work has appeared in Blue Review, High Country News, Wilderness Magazine, Idaho Magazine, and elsewhere. His book, Living in the Broken West: Essays is a collection 18 of the author’s essays on a variety of topics from a hike in the drainage of the L.A. River from bottom to top, to a trip down the Colville River in Alaska’s Arctic and oil country. Each essay intends to delight the reader and encourage him or her to visit the outdoors to learn and play in this wide and weird and broken West.
