Visit Sun Valley invites the community to our semi-annual meeting, Wednesday November 16th, 3 – 5pm at the Limelight Hotel. We will be discussing the importance of tourism to our valley, how we think about the future, and what is to come for winter ’23. This meeting is open to everyone, especially all staff, employees, business owners, and residents interested in the well-being of our visitor economy, followed by The Wood River Chamber ‘s Business After Hours event 5 – 7pm.

Join Gilman Contemporary for gallery walk this Friday the 17th. On view is the newest series from Jackson Hole based photographer, Tuck Fauntleroy. Taking aerial and landscape B&W shots of the recent burn areas in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks, Fauntleroy brings light and beauty to an overlooked view. Also on view are new paintings by Brazilian born, LA based Thai Mainhard. Following her intuition and emotions in the moment, Mainhard creates abstract paintings exploding with color and movement. February 15th – March 31st, 2023 Black History Month. Come and see the painting “Knowledge Is Power” by Myriam Esther. The painting is inspired by Ruby Bridges, the first African American to attend a white school in the New Orlean school district. She had to be escorted in and out of school by police officers for her safety. Although Bridges is not the exact girl in this painting, she served as Esther’s inspiration for this work of art. Acrylic on canvas: 60 x 48 x 2.5 inches. Also on display are paintings from the “Love Collection”, the “Snow Collection” Inspired by the abundant Sun Valley Wildlife and the “Defiance Collection” that reflects the artist’s emotional reaction to stories and historical personalities around the world. Idaho Conservation League is pleased to present Science Pub as a fun way to bring educators, scientists, presenters, and the public together. Come on out, grab a beer, and hear about Idaho’s wild salmon and steelhead with Mitch Cutter, ICL’s Salmon and Steelhead Associate. Please join us as we host a conversation about the status of our iconic fish, what’s driving them toward extinction, and how we can restore them to abundance. We’ll talk about energy and transportation infrastructure, Tribal justice, and the opportunity we have now to change the course of the Northwest and make all communities whole. No RSVP or scientific background is required. Just bring your curiosity, sense of humor, and appetite for drinks and knowledge. Elephant’s Perch will be hosting a Sip & Shop from 5:00 pm – 6:00 pm, immediately ahead of Science Pub!
