Since 1958, the City of Ketchum has celebrated its mining history with one of the largest non-motorized parades in the west. Come spend the weekend with the whole family and watch the Big Hitch Parade on Saturday at 1 p.m. The Big Hitch Parade, featuring quality buggies, carriages, carts and stagecoaches, is one of the largest non-motorized parades in the Pacific Northwest. The grand finale, as always, is the “Big Hitch,” the historic Lewis Ore Wagons pulled by a 20-mule jerkline. Learn from the Friends of Sawtooth Avalanche Center instructor team of snow experts, mountain guides, and experienced avalanche educators. We invite everyone to join if you’re learning about avalanches for the first time or are a seasoned backcountry user ready for a yearly refresher. No registration is needed to attend in person. Footlight Dance Company presents a free educational performance for the public on Wednesday, January 25, 2:45pm at the Community Campus Theater, Hailey. This performance will look at 5 of the more than 600 endangered animal species in the US that are either threatened or on the brink of extinction due to habitat loss, poaching, climate change and other factors that eliminate species living around us across the US. The 17 company dancers will use the genres of ballet, modern, jazz, tap and hip hop for our message of conservation and education.

BUT IN HERE IT IS SO HOT!” Directed by BRETT MOELLENBERG Music Directed by R.L. ROWSEY Choreography by JULIA BRAY CABARET will turn up the heat this winter, as The Spot transforms into the Kit Kat Klub. In a Berlin nightclub, as the 1920’s draw to a close, a garish Master of Ceremonies welcomes the audience and assures them they will forget all their troubles at the Cabaret. With the Emcee’s bawdy songs as wry commentary, Cabaret explores the dark, heady, and tumultuous life of Berlin’s natives and expatriates as Germany slowly yields to the emerging Third Reich. Cliff, a young American writer newly arrived in Berlin, is immediately taken with English singer Sally Bowles. Meanwhile, Fräulein Schneider, proprietor of Cliff and Sally’s boarding house, tentatively begins a romance with Herr Schultz, a mild-mannered fruit seller who happens to be Jewish.
