Four Dogs and a Bone - FREE PLAY READING @ St. Thomas Episcopal Church PATIO | Sun Valley | Idaho | United States
7:00 pm
In 1987, New York City playwright John Patrick Shanley (Pulitzer Prize for “Doubt”) headed west to Hollywood. The result was one of the most iconic comedies of all time – “Moonstruck”. Three years later, his film “Joe Versus The Volcano”, starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan, was an historic flop. Hell hath no fury like a funny, insightful, playwright scorned… so Shanley responded with an hysterical dark take on Hollywood and the forces at work making movies, “Four Dogs and a Bone”. As The New York Times said “If you’re going to write a satire about the movie business at this very late date, it had better be very, very funny. In the case of ‘Four Dogs and a Bone’, that criterion is most abundantly met.” On the evening of Saturday, August 6th, Sawtooth Productions will present a reading of the one act comedy at 7pm on the patio at St. Thomas Church. Running time is 75 mins and cookies & wine will be served. Donations accepted. The New York Post stated “Four Dogs and a Bone is the funniest play in town, and the neatest, if kinda affectionate, evisceration of that ‘ol dream factory you will encounter in years”… ...
