Returning for its 12th year, SVFF kicks off another five days of Films, Coffee Talks, Parties and more. SVFF supports independent film and the magic of storytelling. It’s mission to celebrate and award filmmakers who are established and emerging has earned the Festival accolades by the film industry, film festival goers, film lovers, and filmmakers. The year-round Sun Valley Film Initiative develops professionals and illuminates the process of filmmaking, propelling emerging voices with grants and education. Since 2012 the Sun Valley Film Festival has invited fans and filmmakers to America’s first ski resort to celebrate the magic of storytelling. In the past, Festival guests include Hollywood legends such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Clint Eastwood, Jodie Foster, Geena Davis, and Oliver Stone as well as avant-garde writers and filmmakers like Stephen Gaghan and Mark and Jay Duplass. Sun Valley Resort is excited to host the Toyota U.S. Alpine Championships presented by Stifel kicking off April 2 and welcoming elite and next-generation ski racers vying for spots on the Stifel U.S. Alpine Ski Team. The racing event, which runs April 2-5, is the final competition on the hotly contended US national ski racing circuit and is the culmination of a season-long showcase of the best of the best in US ski racing athleticism. Saturday starts the week of events with training opportunities for racers and a sponsor village and live apres music in Warm Springs Plaza. Sunday, April 2, the racing kicks off with men’s and women’s super-G followed by Clicquot in the Snow Party at Warm Springs and the Opening Ceremony at Town Square in Ketchum featuring a Parade of Athletes and a free concert by Lowdown Brass Band. The 6th Annual Sun Valley Tour de Force on July 20-22, 2023 is a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. Eight events take place over the course of three days. The signature event of the weekend is the ‘NO SPEED LIMIT’ high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone. For one day only, drivers are allowed to put their machines to the ultimate test. In 2019, all previously recorded speed records were broken when a Bugatti Chiron hit 253.01mph. This is truly an experience of a lifetime. Additional weekend events include scenic drives, SVTdF Car Show at Festival Meadows, hosted sponsor events and our fundraiser; Cars & Comedy. The Sun Valley Music Festival’s 39th Summer Season presents a star-studded lineup of guest artists for over three weeks of free concerts in the beautiful, natural surroundings of Sun Valley, Idaho. Pianists Yefim Bronfman and Orli Shaham, mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, and violinist Augustin Hadelich will headline concerts featuring works by Schumann, Ravel, Mahler, and Tchaikovsky. Other programs include works by contemporary American composers including Mason Bates, Michael Abels, and Michael Tilson Thomas. For a very special Pops Night, Stéphane Denève, Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony, will lead the Festival Orchestra in an evening of the music of John Williams. On June 21, 2022 Sun Valley Opera will celebrate its 20th Anniversary with the long awaited Opera in Bloom – A Glamorous Garden Gala. We will start the evening at 5:30 with a cocktail reception on the lawn of a beautiful garden then an elegant dinner catered by Vintage Restaurant. Following dinner we will present a 70 minute concert starring mezzo-soprano Tamara Mumford accompanied by Sean Rogers on piano. Tamara is a graduate of the Metropolitan Opera’s Lindemann Young Artist Development Program and has since appeared in more than 140 performances with the Metropolitan Opera. Share Your Heart Ball is the primary fundraiser for Camp Rainbow Gold, an Idaho nonprofit providing hope, love, fun, and a community of support to children diagnosed with cancer. After three years away, we’re headed back to the ballroom for one of the most highly anticipated fundraising events of the year. Most known for our oncology summer camps, Camp Rainbow Gold also provides a camp for siblings, retreats for families, a teen support group, a college scholarship program, and a year-round community for families who have endured a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Camp Rainbow Gold programs are made possible by the generosity of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community support through events like the Share Your Heart Ball.
