After three years away, we’re headed back to the ballroom for one of the most highly anticipated fundraising events of the year. Most known for our oncology summer camps, Camp Rainbow Gold also provides a camp for siblings, retreats for families, a teen support group, a college scholarship program, and a year-round community for families who have endured a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Camp Rainbow Gold programs are made possible by the generosity of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community support through events like the Share Your Heart Ball. Returning for its 12th year, SVFF kicks off another five days of Films, Coffee Talks, Parties and more. SVFF supports independent film and the magic of storytelling. It’s mission to celebrate and award filmmakers who are established and emerging has earned the Festival accolades by the film industry, film festival goers, film lovers, and filmmakers. The year-round Sun Valley Film Initiative develops professionals and illuminates the process of filmmaking, propelling emerging voices with grants and education. Since 2012 the Sun Valley Film Festival has invited fans and filmmakers to America’s first ski resort to celebrate the magic of storytelling. In the past, Festival guests include Hollywood legends such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Clint Eastwood, Jodie Foster, Geena Davis, and Oliver Stone as well as avant-garde writers and filmmakers like Stephen Gaghan and Mark and Jay Duplass. The Sun Valley Wellness Festival (SVWF) has been at the forefront of the wellness movement for decades. Its pioneering wellness programs have positively impacted thousands of individuals in the local and global communities. 2023 will be the 26th year of the festival, which will take place over Memorial Day weekend, May 26-29, officially launching the summer event season in the Sun Valley area. Festival programs and activities will be held at the Argyros Performing Arts Center and the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum, Idaho. Building on its history of highlighting inspired thought leaders, the 2023 SVWF will feature dozens of pioneering presentations and workshops from leading wellness experts. The festival also will offer a free Experience Hall, which includes a variety of wellness vendors, as well as movement, and yoga classes, and unique guided outdoor wellness adventures such as holistic hiking and mountain meditations. Initially volunteers trucked plants up from afar, but with the growing popularity of the event, Papoose Club began to collaborate with local gardening businesses. Webb Garden Centers has been partnering with the Papoose Club for many years now. Webb graciously donates a portion of their sales during the event to the Club. The 6th Annual Sun Valley Tour de Force on July 20-22, 2023 is a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. Eight events take place over the course of three days. The signature event of the weekend is the ‘NO SPEED LIMIT’ high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone. For one day only, drivers are allowed to put their machines to the ultimate test. In 2019, all previously recorded speed records were broken when a Bugatti Chiron hit 253.01mph. This is truly an experience of a lifetime. Additional weekend events include scenic drives, SVTdF Car Show at Festival Meadows, hosted sponsor events and our fundraiser; Cars & Comedy. Save the dates for summer 2023: July 30 – August 24. The Sun Valley Music Festival’s 39th Summer Season presents a star-studded lineup of guest artists for over three weeks of free concerts in the beautiful, natural surroundings of Sun Valley, Idaho. Pianists Yefim Bronfman and Orli Shaham, mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, and violinist Augustin Hadelich will headline concerts featuring works by Schumann, Ravel, Mahler, and Tchaikovsky. Other programs include works by contemporary American composers including Mason Bates, Michael Abels, and Michael Tilson Thomas. For a very special Pops Night, Stéphane Denève, Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony, will lead the Festival Orchestra in an evening of the music of John Williams. Major orchestral repertoire will include Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 (the season finale) and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. The annual fundraising Gala Concert will take place on August 8 (details will be released in mid-February). The concerts are free (except for the Gala), and available for everyone to enjoy at the Sun Valley Pavilion, whether inside or on the big lawn.
