Sun Valley Music Festival Winter Season

Where: Argyros Performing Arts Center, 120 Main St S, Ketchum, ID 83340, USA

The Sun Valley Music Festival presents its fifth Winter Season at the Argyros Performing Arts Center from March 15-17, 2023. The program will feature Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition, one of the most popular works in all classical music, in an arrangement for 21 brass and percussion musicians that captures the power and emotion of the original. Music Director Alasdair Neale will conduct the performances, which will also feature a series of short works showcasing the beauty and range of various instruments in the brass and percussion sections. Admission is free, and the atmosphere at the Argyros will be intimate, offering the perfect setting for audience members to experience this beautiful music up close and personal. This year’s program will feature two acts with an intermission, and the same program will be performed each evening. Tickets Admission is free, but space is limited, and reservations are required. Reservations for the public begin on Wednesday, Feb. 8 at 9 a.m. (Mountain Time). Seating is limited to two seats per household for one performance. Returning for its 12th year, SVFF kicks off another five days of Films, Coffee Talks, Parties and more. SVFF supports independent film and the magic of storytelling. It’s mission to celebrate and award filmmakers who are established and emerging has earned the Festival accolades by the film industry, film festival goers, film lovers, and filmmakers. The year-round Sun Valley Film Initiative develops professionals and illuminates the process of filmmaking, propelling emerging voices with grants and education. Since 2012 the Sun Valley Film Festival has invited fans and filmmakers to America’s first ski resort to celebrate the magic of storytelling. In the past, Festival guests include Hollywood legends such as Gwyneth Paltrow, Clint Eastwood, Jodie Foster, Geena Davis, and Oliver Stone as well as avant-garde writers and filmmakers like Stephen Gaghan and Mark and Jay Duplass. U.S Alpine Championships

From April 2-5, Sun Valley Resort will host the 2023 U.S. Alpine Championships with both men and women competing in slalom, giant slalom and super-G events. The course in Sun Valley has a storied history of alpine racing, along with technical and challenging terrain, and will feature local U.S. Alpine Ski Team athletes such as Ryder Sarchett, Jack Smith and Dasha Romanov. The Sun Valley Wellness Festival (SVWF) has been at the forefront of the wellness movement for decades. Its pioneering wellness programs have positively impacted thousands of individuals in the local and global communities. 2023 will be the 26th year of the festival, which will take place over Memorial Day weekend, May 26-29, officially launching the summer event season in the Sun Valley area. Festival programs and activities will be held at the Argyros Performing Arts Center and the Limelight Hotel in Ketchum, Idaho. Building on its history of highlighting inspired thought leaders, the 2023 SVWF will feature dozens of pioneering presentations and workshops from leading wellness experts. The festival also will offer a free Experience Hall, which includes a variety of wellness vendors, as well as movement, and yoga classes, and unique guided outdoor wellness adventures such as holistic hiking and mountain meditations. Sun Valley Tour de Force

The 6th Annual Sun Valley Tour de Force on July 20-22, 2023 is a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. Eight events take place over the course of three days. The signature event of the weekend is the ‘NO SPEED LIMIT’ high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone. For one day only, drivers are allowed to put their machines to the ultimate test. In 2019, all previously recorded speed records were broken when a Bugatti Chiron hit 253.01mph. This is truly an experience of a lifetime. Additional weekend events include scenic drives, SVTdF Car Show at Festival Meadows, hosted sponsor events and our fundraiser; Cars & Comedy. The Sun Valley Music Festival’s 39th Summer Season presents a star-studded lineup of guest artists for over three weeks of free concerts in the beautiful, natural surroundings of Sun Valley, Idaho. Pianists Yefim Bronfman and Orli Shaham, mezzo-soprano Sasha Cooke, and violinist Augustin Hadelich will headline concerts featuring works by Schumann, Ravel, Mahler, and Tchaikovsky. Other programs include works by contemporary American composers including Mason Bates, Michael Abels, and Michael Tilson Thomas. For a very special Pops Night, Stéphane Denève, Music Director of the St. Louis Symphony, will lead the Festival Orchestra in an evening of the music of John Williams. Major orchestral repertoire will include Mahler’s Symphony No. 5 (the season finale) and Stravinsky’s Rite of Spring. Share Your Heart Ball is the primary fundraiser for Camp Rainbow Gold, an Idaho nonprofit providing hope, love, fun, and a community of support to children diagnosed with cancer. After three years away, we’re headed back to the ballroom for one of the most highly anticipated fundraising events of the year.

Most known for our oncology summer camps, Camp Rainbow Gold also provides a camp for siblings, retreats for families, a teen support group, a college scholarship program, and a year-round community for families who have endured a pediatric cancer diagnosis. Camp Rainbow Gold programs are made possible by the generosity of donors, sponsors, volunteers, and community support through events like the Share Your Heart Ball.
