The ‘greatest party on snow’ will return yet again in its 24th iteration for 2023!
As details unfold, they will be posted at www.svsef.org/events/24th-annual-janss-pro-am-classic/
The Janss Pro-Am Classic is held in memory of Mr. Bill Janss. A true renaissance man, Janss embodied the best qualities of the American spirit. He was dynamic, intelligent, fearless and kind, and had the vision and strength of character to boldly take Sun Valley Resort to the next level after purchasing it in 1964. Named to the 1940 Olympic Alpine Team, Janss remained a lifetime enthusiast and supporter of skiing and ski racing until his death in 1996. Because of Bill – his attributes, ethos and commitment to our community – the Sun Valley Ski Education Foundation is proud to host the Janss Pro-Am Classic in his honor.

The Argyros welcomes back Barcelona Flamenco Ballet (BFB) and their production of New Time/Flamenco Reborn. In an all new show, BFB fuses three dance styles with which we are all familiar – jazz, contemporary, and, of course, flamenco – creating a tension so electric, the metallic tapping sounds of the dancers footwork endure in one’s ears, leaving us questioning: What does it mean to be ‘reborn’?
One interpretation of ‘reborn’ is that of reconstruction. The dancers constantly reconstruct the ambiances they produce onstage, building up a rhythm with repetitive motions – and then break it, instantly stopping, rupturing the established order, then beginning again. In this way, the rhythm itself is ‘reborn’ – constantly renewing the dynamics of the performance, keeping it fresh and alive.
Witness the drama of BFB, from the exuberant outpourings of passion to quiet moments of intimacy in this constantly changing display of reinvention.

The 6th Annual Sun Valley Tour de Force on July 20-22, 2023 is a weekend of epic proportions for car lovers of all ages. Eight events take place over the course of three days. The signature event of the weekend is the ‘NO SPEED LIMIT’ high speed runs at Phantom Hill. Located in the heart of the Sawtooth National Recreation Area, 3.2 miles of state highway becomes a no-speed limit zone. For one day only, drivers are allowed to put their machines to the ultimate test. In 2019, all previously recorded speed records were broken when a Bugatti Chiron hit 253.01mph. This is truly an experience of a lifetime. Additional weekend events include scenic drives, SVTdF Car Show at Festival Meadows, hosted sponsor events and our fundraiser; Cars & Comedy. With the stunning backdrop of Sun Valley, Idaho, this is a weekend not to be missed.
The SVTdF Car Show is a highly anticipated event with supercars, classics, and collectibles on display. Both participants of the SVTdF high-speed event as well as any proud collector are welcome to participate. Approximately 150 cars are invited to enter the Show. This event offers a chance for spectators to check out sponsor cars, purchase SVTdF merchandise, and enjoy local food and beverage specialties. Guests will be entertained with commentary from Peter Bush, veteran radio personality, and SVTdF friend Max Monahan.
Sun Valley Tour de Force, a non-profit raising funds for The Hunger Coalition, is three days of events for car enthusiasts, sponsors, and guests. Weekend highlights include runs on a state highway with no speed limit, with cars reaching well over 200mph. Open to the public, the Friday SVTdF Car Show hosts supercars, classics, and the latest models on display. Guests also enjoy the scenic Huckleberry Drive from Ketchum to Smiley Creek Lodge, hosted sponsor events, test drives, and Cars & Comedy, the chief fundraising event of the weekend.

Sun Valley Jazz and Music Festival
Five days. Forty Bands. One Million Smiles
Attendees from all fifty states, every Canadian province, and several foreign countries gather each October to celebrate live performances of America’s music. The Sun Valley Jazz & Music Festival was birthed out of a love and appreciation for jazz music by Tom & Barbara Hazzard and is held mid-October each year in Sun Valley, ID.
Become One of the Thousands of Jazz Fans Who Have Been Delighted Since 1990!
This experience of telling the story of “American” music is our passion. Amazing isn’t it? We all get to be part of this history while it’s still in the making. The names that ring through eternity—Armstrong, Ellington, Fitzgerald, Beiderbecke, Goodman, Holliday, Basie, Shaw, Miller, and so many more—have created a legacy of delight that lives on through those of us who participate in this jazz festival. The history of this music echoes the history of twentieth century America.
This jazz event is held this year because of your continued support and encouragement. You tell people how much fun it is and that they need to come to Sun Valley. It continues because people have a heart to support the event and because we have incredible volunteers. It will continue as long as we all do our part to provide a place for these dedicated artists to express themselves and expose us to the art form called Jazz.
