A one of a kind wine tasting experience is yours at the Culinary Institute Wednesday, April 12th. 8-10 different (varietal, based on grape used) wines will challenge wine lovers both ‘expert’ and amateur to identify the grape used. Served in a brown bag (and silence!) there will be 4 excellent whites and 4 reds to check off against a printed list that includes tasting characteristics of each wine.
Gary Hoffman is representing the Advisory Board in hosting this event as a benefit for the SVCI, “In 40 years of wine tastings, never have I seen this entertaining and educational approach taken”. Wine tastings typically ask participants to rank wines based on their preferences among them. In this exciting version, “The Ultimate Wine Tasting Challenge”, a prize and a trophy will be awarded to the person most successfully identifying the grapes including Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, and others…2 tiebreaker wines have been selected to be used as needed.
