SUMMARY:A Killer Evening with Ariel Delgado Dixon and Mary Pauline Lowry
DESCRIPTION:Join us for an evening with Ariel Delgado Dixon and Mary Paulin
e Lowry\, both past Writers-in-Residence with The Community Library at the
historic Ernest and Mary Hemingway House. These friends and extraordinary w
riters\, who met in the Boise State University Creative Writing MFA Program
\, will share their newest novels – both of which were worked on in Ketch
um during their residencies in 2022 and 2020.\\n\\nDixon’s Sourland (Peng
uin Random House\, June 2026) sparkles with the beauty and grime of the Cal
ifornia woods. After its matriarch's disappearance\, two rival successors f
ight for control of a California weed farm. A brilliantly constructed and v
isceral novel of desire and betrayal\, Dixon’s novel warns that our true
nature catches up to us all—no matter how far we run.\\n\\nLowry’s Last
Night Was Killer (William Morrow\, July 2027) is a charming introduction t
o the most unlikely and likable of sleuths. The novel follows Tilly Turner\
, who signs up for an introductory pole-dancing class looking for a distrac
tion. Reeling from her mother’s passing\, and with her career as a stand-
up comedian in ruins\, Tilly has just moved back to the Idaho hometown she
was desperate to leave\, with her twin daughters in tow. But Tilly gets mor
e than she bargained for after a night out with her new pals. She wakes to
a raging hangover\, no memory of the evening before\, and a dead body in th
e trunk of her car.\\n\\nConversation and reading to be followed by a Q&A a
nd book signing with Iconoclast Books. Registration requested to join us in
person. Also available to watch live online (no registration needed for li
 vestream).
