DESCRIPTION:Community Sing is an offering for anyone with a voice (yes\, yo
 u!) in which we gather to share in song\, noise making\, and keep the age-o
 ld tradition of singing in community alive. We believe firmly that every pe
 rson has a voice with the power to carry song and story on its breath and t
 hat there are no bad voices. Songs are taught to all each meeting and suppo
 rted by percussion.\\n\\nNo registration required. Donations welcome.\\n\\n
 The first and third Thursday of every month.\\n\\nFAQs:\\n\\nDo I need to b
 ring anything?\\n\\nWe recommend bringing a water bottle and wearing comfor
 table clothes to move and sit in. You do not need to bring any additional i
 nstruments other than your voice. Though\, if you have a percussion instrum
 ent you would like to bring\, that is welcome.\\n\\nI’m not a “singer�
 �. Am I still welcome?\\n\\nYes! Even if you have never sang in front of an
 other person or consider yourself tone-deaf\, this gathering is still for y
 ou. Everyone is welcome to engage with song and community in whatever way i
 s most supportive to them. Whether that be singingly loudly and fully\, pla
 ying around with harmonies and taking vocal liberties\, or remaining quiet 
 and letting the voices of their community wash over them. There is no wrong
  way to have a voice.\\n\\nWhy Community Sing?\\n\\nDespite singing being a
 n essential piece of all people’s ancestry\, storytelling\, and evolution
 \; in recent years it feels as though singing has become reserved for those
  deemed socially “good enough”. Song has been sequestered into religiou
 s spaces or alone in the shower. Community Sing aims to remind us of the po
 wer and beauty of each of our voices\; to be vulnerable\, witnessed\, and h
 eld in community\; and to know that there is no sound more beautiful than a
  room full of people singing together.
