 rks from Circa 1971 to examine the history\, techniques\, and market forces
  that helped elevate contemporary printmaking as a major artistic medium. T
 he talk will center on the history of Gemini\, some of the printmaking proc
 esses and sculpture multiples that pushed the boundaries of modern edition-
 making\, illustrated by a curated selection of photographs by Gemini co-fou
 nder Sidney B. Felsen.\\n\\nChris Santa Maria is Director of Gemini G.E.L. 
 at Joni Moisant Weyl in New York\, where he oversees exhibitions\, artist c
 ollaborations\, and the presentation of one of the world's most significant
  collections of contemporary prints and sculpture multiples. Working closel
 y with the legendary Gemini G.E.L. workshop in Los Angeles\, he has helped 
 organize exhibitions and educational programs highlighting the innovative p
 rintmaking practices of artists including Robert Rauschenberg\, Jasper John
 s\, Frank Stella\, Richard Serra\, Julie Mehretu\, and many others. Santa M
 aria is widely recognized for his expertise in contemporary printmaking and
  for his ability to illuminate the collaborative relationships between arti
 sts\, printers\, publishers\, and galleries that have shaped the field sinc
 e Gemini G.E.L.'s founding in 1966.
