 well’s career as an artist spans over 60 years\, but that career is inter
 twined with his practice as an architect\, teacher and art historian. This 
 talk is a nostalgic look back at those careers as Jim turns 84.\\n\\nBorn i
 n New York in 1942\, Jim Caldwell has spent most of his life in the San Fra
 ncisco Bay Area. He graduated from Williams College in 1964 as an Art Major
 \, and spent the next year in Paris studying printing and etching at the Ec
 ole des Beaux Arts. In 1969 he received his Master of Architecture Degree f
 rom the Yale School of Architecture. He started painting actively again 40 
 years ago\, and has since accumulated an impressive body of work.\\n\\nPres
 ented in partnership with the Sun Valley Museum of Art\, where Jim is teach
 ing a week-long class on Line and Color\, August 3-7\, 2026. Learn more abo
