SUMMARY:Afternoon Warm Springs Preserve Restoration Tour
DESCRIPTION:If you've been curious about what's been going on at Warm Sprin
gs Preserve\, this tour is for you! Join our River Program Team\, Cory and
Ryan\, for a behind-the-scenes look at the Land Trust's restoration efforts
in Ketchum! RSVPs are highly encouraged\, though drop-ins are welcome if s
pace allows. This will be in an active construction zone\, and bringing a d
og is not recommended.\\n\\nCome join the Wood River Land Trust on a projec
t tour of the Warm Spring Preserve restoration project\, the largest river
restoration project that has occurred in the Big Wood River basin. It is a
great example of how we can reverse bad land use practices along streams an
d rivers\, and restore aquatic and terrestrial habitat! Through partnering
with the City of Ketchum we have reconnected 8 acres of floodplains\, const
ructed 2\,000 feet of side channels\, created close to 40 large woody debri
s jams and a 1 acre of wetland. This is a multifaceted project and WRLT sta
ff will present the restoration techniques used to restore habitat\, the ne
w irrigation system that will save 50 million gallons of water annually\, n
ew recreational amenities\, and updated ADA access.
