DESCRIPTION:Join SVMoA for an in-person talk by Dr. Sarah Magnatta from the
  University of Denver as we highlight Realms of the Dharma: Buddhist Art Ac
 ross Asia\, an exhibition currently on display until July 12\, 2026 at The 
 Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Dr. Magnatta will discuss the key
  concepts of Buddhist thought and practice as they are seen through sculptu
 res\, paintings\, textiles\, and ritual objects. Realms of the Dharma: Budd
 hist Art Across Asia explores the life of Buddha\, the role of the bodhisat
 tva savior\, Buddhist cosmology\, and such key concepts as dharma\, karma\,
  nirvana\, mantra\, mudra\, and mandala.\\n\\nDr. Magnatta received her PhD
  in art history from the Ohio State University and her MA in art history fr
 om the University of Denver. She specializes in global contemporary art and
  museum studies and teaches courses at the University of Denver on contempo
 rary art through global perspectives. She previously worked at the Denver A
 rt Museum and has curated several exhibitions\, including Gonkar Gyatso: In
 timacy and Immediacy at the Vicki Myhren Gallery in Denver. She also curate
 d Tenzing Rigdol’s first solo U.S. exhibition\, My World Is in Your Blind
  Spot at the Emmanuel Art Gallery in Denver and the Tibet House U.S. in New
