SUMMARY:Mexican Folkloric Dance II (Spring 2026) Intermediate Level
DESCRIPTION:Advance your Mexican folkloric dance skills in a dynamic\, cult
 urally rich class designed for returning dancers!\\n\\nIn this intermediate
 -level program\, students will dive deeper into traditional Mexican folklor
 ic movement — strengthening rhythm\, technique\, choreography\, and perfo
 rmance readiness. Dancers will continue building zapateado\, skirt work\, m
 usicality\, and stage presence under experienced instruction delivered in b
 oth Spanish and English. This program supports steady progress without retu
 rning to basic steps each week\, allowing students to grow together and pre
 pare for community performances such as Cinco de Mayo celebrations.\\n\\nIn
 termediate Level. Age & ability: 10–16 years old\; returning students at 
 an intermediate level only\\n\\nThis workshop takes place every Friday from
  March 6-May 8 (except during Spring Break\, March 27)\, 9 sessions in tota
 l\, from 5:30-7pm.\\n\\nAbout the Instructor\\nDirce Flores is a profession
 al dancer from Mexico. In 1995\, at the age of 10\, she was cast in a local
  TV show and later returned to the study of folkloric and other forms of da
 nce. She performed in the best theaters in Oaxaca\, began teaching Mexican 
 folk dance classes at age 17\, and was part of a ballet company until she w
 as 20. She enjoys sharing her love of dance with the Wood River Valley\, wh
 ere she has lived since 2008.
