  • From the Ashes Film

Idaho Conservation League and our Emerging Leaders for Idaho’s Environment (ELIE) program are proud to present a special Earth Day screening of "From the Ashes", a National Geographic documentary that goes beyond the rhetoric of the “war on coal.” This film takes a compelling look at how our reliance on coal-fired power has significant impacts on our economy, health and climate.

Idaho’s three major utilities all rely on coal-fired power to supply their customers’ energy needs. 24% of Idaho Power’s electricity — which all of us in the Wood River Valley use on a daily basis — comes from coal. Because all of our coal power comes from out of state, we have a unique opportunity to transition to cleaner energy sources here in Idaho.

Don’t miss the opportunity to see this fascinating documentary and learn how YOU can make a difference in helping Idaho go coal free. Join ICL and ELIE members for a meet-and-greet after the show — it’ll be your chance to ask questions and learn more about ICL’s coal-free Idaho campaign.
